Following permanent makeup aftercare instructions is very important to give your brows a chance to fully heal to a naturally beautiful look. Failure to follow these aftercare instructions may result in infections, pigment loss or discoloration.
Helpful Tips!
Avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, excess water in your brows, sunburns, scratching and picking during healing. Keep the area as clean as possible! Wash your hands before doing your aftercare routine! It is essential that you follow these instructions after your cosmetic tattoo session:
Day of treatment: When the procedure has been completed, leave the aftercare ointment on your brows for a minimum of 4 -6 hours. Then gently clean the area with a very small amount of distilled water on a cotton pad, just barely damp. Using a Q-tip, apply a very small amount of the aftercare ointment to brows. Just enough to moisturize the brows. Be very gentle!
If you notice your brows looking "sweaty", don't worry - that's just lymph fluid! Wash your hands and pat away the fluid with a clean tissue/cotton round.
Duration of Healing Time: Repeat the steps above. Be extra careful not to rub the brows hard, tug or scrub the brows. Do this 3x a day (morning/afternoon/night)
On day 4-7, if your brow area itches, please DO NOT scratch. Continue with the aftercare routine.
If your brows feel tight or dry, apply a very thin layer of the aftercare ointment with a cotton swab after cleansing the brow area with a small amount of distilled water on a cotton pad.
2 Weeks: Brows usually are initially healed at this point. When all scabs/flakes have naturally fallen off you may resume any normal skin care and makeup routines.
While your brows are initially healed, keep in mind the true color may not be seen until around weeks 3-5.
After Healing: Congratulations! To help keep your brows from fading faster, use a SPF facial moisturizer to help protect your skin and brows. Sunglasses and hats are a bonus during the summer months!
